Our whole Veritas Commercial Real Estate team has been having great experiences with RingCentral for years. So, when we rolled out Edgewood Partners, our execs didn’t have any question about which communication system to use. And they were right: RingCentral has served us well in the new company since day one.

Managing properties for some of the most respected businesses in the US

For years, Veritas Commercial Real Estate has been the full-service real estate firm of choice for many highly respected medical practices, retail companies, and restaurants across the United States.
But demand for the company’s property management services in particular has grown so much over the years that in 2021, Veritas spun out a dedicated business—Edgewood Partners Property Management—to provide the day-to-day oversight of these clients’ commercial properties.
And when it came to equipping the Edgewood team with a telephony solution, Veritas called on its outstanding, years-long experience powering its business communications with RingCentral.

The obvious business telephony choice for their new company

John High, Director of Property Management for the newly formed Edgewood Partners, had been a property manager with Veritas Commercial Real Estate for years when the leadership team tapped him for this role in the new company. John notes that the day he joined Veritas, the company set him up with a RingCentral cloud-based phone account—which everyone else in the organization had as well.
“When you launch a new business, many of the strategic decisions you have to make can be difficult and stressful,” says John. “But choosing RingCentral as Edgewood’s business communication system wasn’t one of those. Our leadership team was so happy with their RingCentral system that they had no question it was the way to go—especially for property managers like me who need to be able to make and take business calls in the field.”
We manage properties for some of the most respected, well-run businesses in their fields. These clients count on my team to be responsive to their needs, so we can’t rely on landlines and voicemail. RingCentral gives us anywhere accessibility—by phone or text message—so we can consistently provide outstanding service.

The mobility the team needs, and the accessibility that clients expect

As John points out, the cloud-based RingEX is providing enormous operational benefits to the new Edgewood Partners team.
“We’re managing dozens of properties, and you can’t do that entirely from an office,” he says. “We need a way to communicate with clients from the field. That could’ve meant giving out our personal cell number, or carrying a separate, company-issued device. RingCentral gives us the best of both worlds—the ability to stay accessible to clients from on the road, and the ability to keep our personal and business communications separate but on the same device.”
RingCentral is so flexible, in fact, that John and his team regularly use the mobile app not only for phone calls but also for SMS text messaging with clients. “Some tenants would rather communicate by text message, especially if they want to send us photos of an issue they’re having with their property. The RingCentral app lets me send and receive texts using my business line, and I never have to give out my personal cell number.”

Looking forward to more workflow improvements with RingCentral Video

John also notes that although Edgewood Partners is still in its early stages as a company, and the staff is currently leveraging the RingCentral cloud solution only for phone calls and text messaging, he is also planning soon to introduce the team to the built-in online meetings platform, RingCentral Video.
As John explains, “I can see being able to improve and speed our decision-making with repair teams and other vendors by turning those phone calls into video conversations, where I can ask a vendor at a property that we manage to show me the problem the client is asking to have fixed.”
“In fact,” he adds, “I can imagine using RingCentral Video to improve our internal team communications, especially when we have some employees in the office and others out at our properties. Having video and being able to see everyone’s faces will definitely help keep us feeling and operating as a team.”
When I joined the parent company, Veritas, RingCentral was already a proven solution for that team. Now, as I’m running property management for Edgewood Partners, I can tell you that RingCentral is proving itself all over again with my team and our clients. I’m so glad we made this decision.
